Core Privacy Pledge: We believe your music collection is entirely your personal business. Album Art Downloader (XUI) and our Online Web Tool collect zero personal audio metadata, transmit no telemetry, and employ zero third-party user profiling. Image downloads occur directly between your device and upstream official public CDNs.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Because Album Art Downloader is built with an open-source, decentralized architecture:

  • No Audio File Scanning: We never upload, inspect, or store your local audio files (MP3, FLAC, WAV, etc.). All directory scanning happens strictly on your local PC.
  • No Search Logging: When you search for an artist or album, your search query is sent directly to the public API endpoints (Apple, Spotify, MusicBrainz) from your own device, without touching our private servers.
  • No Telemetry or User Profiling: Our desktop software contains no tracking cookies, analytics SDKs, or background ping services.

2. Information Collected on This Website

Like standard web properties, our web server may collect minimal technical logs strictly for operational security and anti-DDoS mitigation:

  • Server Logs: Standard HTTP request logs (IP address, browser user-agent, timestamp) stored temporarily for security firewall monitoring via Cloudflare.
  • Cookies: This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Minimal session cookies may be used solely for caching and site performance.
  • Client-Side Blob Downloads: When you download an image from our Online Tool, the file is retrieved directly into your browser’s local memory (Blob API) and saved to your disk. No image files are ever uploaded or retained on our web server.

3. Third-Party Services & Public APIs

When searching for artwork, Album Art Downloader facilitates connections to public databases chosen by the user:

  • Apple Music / iTunes CDN: Image assets are fetched directly from *.mzstatic.com subject to Apple’s standard public storefront access rules.
  • MusicBrainz / Discogs / Fanart.tv: Queries adhere to official public API terms and rate limits.

4. Open Source Transparency (GPL v2)

The ultimate guarantee of your privacy is our source code. Album Art Downloader is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2. Anyone can inspect, audit, or compile the source code independently to verify our strict zero-telemetry commitments.
